Licking is the Same as Handwashing, Right? Parenting in the Age of COVID

Audience: Caregivers of children (e.g., parents, stepparents, grandparents, foster parents, family members)

Content level: Beginner/Introductory

Description: Participants will be reminded of the importance of self-care, self-compassion, and being “good enough” during these difficult times while learning parenting tips in a judgement-free manner from a parent who’s trying to figure it all out, too.

How to Support Our Youth

Audience: Adult community members who have a role in a child or adolescent’s life (e.g., parents, grandparents, aunts/uncles, foster parents, teachers, child care providers, youth leaders)

Content level: Beginner/Introductory

Description: Participants will learn positive strategies to support children’s emotional and mental well-being, as based in interpersonal neuroscience and developmental psychology, with real-life examples to support understanding.

As with the other presentations, recordings will be available to watch on YouTube afterwards

NAMI
NAMI Southeast Minnesota is proud to bring you classes on suicide prevention.  This class will teach three steps anyone can learn to help prevent suicide.  The skills you learn you will help you help someone who may be suicidal; including the common causes of suicidal behavior, warning signs of suicide, and how to get help for someone in crisis.

The City of Kasson is bringing you these free classes.  Class size is limited to 30 individuals and families.  Registration is required.  To register for the class click on the link.
